Scripture instructs us to subject ourselves to governing authorities, and to pray for those in authoritative roles. Notably, our subjection and prayers are not dependent on whether we agree with our respective governing authorities...Too often, we can allow ourselves to become so deafened by the noise of intense political divisions that we lose sight of our spiritual obligations. May God’s sovereignty and will be revealed to all who are in authority.

Too often, people pray to God, as though He is some type of magical genie, who grants wishes, if we pray fervently enough. How does that affect his perception of God's sovereignty? God wants to hear from us, His children. He longs to have a reciprocal relationship with us...

A wondering lustful eye, a covetous heart, and a prideful soul are just some of the contributions to the darkness in our individual lives, which in turn feed a lost society, which then boomerang back to impact our personal lives even more. It is a vicious cycle that has led to the emptying of seats in churches around the country and worldwide, not just yours.
